Community Development Officer, Matt Croxall
Hello, my name is Matt Croxall and I am your local Community Development Coordinator.
I cover the following counties: Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and the West Midlands.
My role is to offer support to local people who have had an experience of meningitis, and to raise awareness about the disease across my region. I can also offer support to the Trust’s many fantastic supporters across the Midlands who are involved in raising the vital funds that enable the charity to continue its fantastic work.

5km Big Fun Runs

When you register you will receive a free Meningitis Trust fundraising pack which includes a T-shirt, fundraising ideas, sponsorship forms, and training tips to prepare you for the big day. We will be here to support you before, during and after your run.
Local Running Races
Why not make the decision to get fit and at the same time raise vital funds for the Meningitis Trust?
There are lots of running events throughout the region from fun runs right up to full marathons. Listed below are just a few of these races, but to search for a race near to you then the Runners World web site has a full list. We can provide sponsor forms; advice on how to set up your own 'Virgin Money Giving' web site; collection tins; a letter of authority (to say that your raising funds for the Trust); a T-shirt or vest to run in on the day; training advice; and of course lots of support.
Here are some examples of runs taking place within the West Midlands region that you may wish to enter on behalf of the Trust, just click on each race for more information:
Wye Valley Ultra (30 Miles) – Sunday 7 March
Stafford Half Marathon – Sunday 21 March
Shakespeare Marathon or Half Marathon (Stratford-upon-Avon) – Sunday 25 April
Tewkesbury Half Marathon – Sunday 9 May
Coventry Half Marathon & Coventry Mile – Sunday 23 May
The Great Midlands Fun Run – Sunday 6 June
The Potter’s Arf (Half Marathon in Stoke on Trent) – Sunday 13 June
Birmingham Half Marathon – Date TBC
Supermarket and street collections
These collections are a fun way to raise vital funds and at the same time raise awareness of meningitis and the work of the Trust. Why not get your family and friends involved? Our mascot Monty can come along too! I can apply for the relevant licences required and provide support to you. If you are interested please get in touch.
Organise your own event

If so, please get in touch – we can provide you with advice and answers to any questions you may have, and help with a press release to let your local media know about your event.
