Do you want to talk to someone?
Ask a question?
The Meningitis Trust operates a totally confidential helpline, for anyone concerned about meningitis or meningococcal septicaemia. Our helpline is staffed by nurses who are bound by a code of confidentiality as registered professionals. We are also a member of the The Helplines Association and as members we adhere to their rules and regulations on the operation of helplines.
The helpline is one of the ‘gateways’ to our unique range of FREE professional services - available to anyone who has been affected by meningitis. These services include counselling, art therapy, one-to-one contacts, financial grants and home / hospital visits, which all help rebuild lives after meningitis.
Our fully trained nurses will listen to your needs and can provide you with up-to-date information. We also provide translation in more than 100 languages.
If you have a hearing difficulty, please contact us during office hours using the Minicom number 01453 768003 or Typetalk.
Valerie called our helpline when her son, Oscar, contracted meningococcal meningitis;
'The staff on the helpline listened to how I was feeling and talked me through meningitis
so I could understand. I was told about the other help available and I was sent information.
I know I can call the helpline anytime if I need further help.'
