How you can help
Giving time / volunteers
By giving a little of your time, you can help us brighten the lives of those affected by meningitis.
Many of us lead hectic lives nowadays, but just a few hours a month can make an amazing difference – just ask some of the people that the Trust has supported over the years.
As a volunteer you could help in many ways including:
- raising vital awareness of meningitis by distributing our life saving symptoms cards or giving talks.
- helping at a fundraising event organised by the Trust or a fellow supporter.
- talking to local companies and organisations to make them aware of the work of the Trust in their area and how they can help.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds:

Angela initially contacted the Trust for support, as she was unsure of the after-effects that Samuel may suffer as a consequence, and she has been an active volunteer and supporter of the Meningitis Trust since.
Over the past 7 years Angela has raised a fantastic £75,000.00. She has arranged events for thrill seekers and non-thrill seekers alike: events such as the fire and ice walk, which involved individuals walking on hot coals or broken glass, to the annual coffee morning held in March that attracts people from all over the West Midlands.
As well as fundraising, Angela is very much involved in other aspects of the work the Meningitis Trust carries out with local communities. Angela raises awareness of meningitis and the Meningitis Trust, by giving disease awareness talks to individuals, companies and groups of people all over the Midlands, attending cheque presentations and giving out our literature.
